Suji Halwa | Semolina Sweet Dessert

Sooji ka halwa or Semolina sweet dessert is the best and easiest recipe to try at home for your kids and family to be served at Breakfast along with Chana gravy and Poore/Puri, especially when Ramadans are coming. 

Preparation Time : 5 minutes
cooking Time : 10 minutes
Serves : 3 -  4


  • 1/2 cup of Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  • 3 to 4 Cardamoms (Ilaichee)
  • 1/3 cup of Semolina (Suji)
  • 100 ml of Water 
  • 1/2 cup of Milk
  • 1/3 cup of Sugar
  • 1/4 cup of Desiccated Coconut 


  1. In a wok, add Clarified Butter with Cardamoms.
  2. Then, fry Semolina in Clarified Butter till it changes color to light golden Brown. Keep stirring in order to prevent Semolina from burning.
  3. Add water, then milk and sugar. 
  4. Cook until Ghee separates.
  5. Add desiccated Coconut. Switch off Flame.
  6. Ready to Serve.
